 My motivation :

For this project my goal was to improve techniques and learn how to use different art mediums and to improve the way I draw animals. I also wanted to create awareness on endangered animals so the three animals I drew are endangered.

Criteria:

For my project I wanted to be able to draw at least three different endangered species with a different art medium for each artwork. I also wanted to do this without tracing or copying an image/photo.

Planning:

Before I started my project, I did research on which endangered species I wanted to draw. At the start i had a list of about twenty animals, then I eliminated the ones I didn't want to draw and only kept my favourite ones. To choose which mediums I should use, I also made a list of all the options I have. Then I removed the ones that I already knew how to use and the ones that were too complicated to obtain.

Process:

When I started my first sketches I didn't like what I drew at first, so I sketched many different Tigers, Frogs and Orangutans to familiarise myself with the way the animals are in different positions. Then, I tried drawing each animal again just with a pencil in the positions that I wanted my final piece to be and it was much better. Next I tried the mediums on a piece of paper to see how it felt. I watched videos and read some art blogs to understand the techniques better. Then I drew my animals with the right tools but it didn't work on the first try, I started again a couple times before being satisfied with what I saw.
